Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis and therefore the type that many pharmaceutical
companies are trying to develop new medications for. Although osteoarthritis can affect any joint in the
body it most typically will target the hands, neck, lower back, knees and hips. The joint most often
selected by pharmaceutical companies for the purpose of research studies is the knee. Horizons is
often conducting these osteoarthritis knee studies and looking for volunteers to participate in them.
When we are conducting these studies we actively enroll volunteers to participate in them. When we
are not presently conducting a study we will input those who are interested in being contacted for
future studies in our database in order to reach out to them first when a new study comes up. Typically
enrollment is limited.
